Annual General Assembly 2017

Thursday 27 April 2017

Once more members and Friends of the Order gathered in historic Rothley for the Annual General Assembly of GPUK. Members travelled from across the UK and enjoyed a weekend of fellowship and fun!

Day one of the AGA saw reports from all Chapter members, many of whom were giving their final reports as Chapter members following the Elections earlier in the year.

Sunday saw a full congregation in Rothley Temple church, with admission of a new novice, two new knights and two new chaplains of the Order. This church service also saw the installation of the new Chapter of GPUK who will serve until 2020.

After lunch, the Grand Prior presented brevets to the new novice, knights and chaplains and presented the Order Certificate of Merit award to the outgoing Grand Priory Chaplain General, Almoner and Seneschal/Deputy Grand Prior (UK).

2016 Annual General Assembly and Admissions & Investitures

Thursday 17 March 2016

Knights, Dames, Friends of the Order and families spent a wonderful weekend of discussion and fellowship at Rothley in Leicestershire recently.

Prominent on the agenda was the ratification of the co-joining of KTEW and the Commandery of Scotland to form the new Grand Priory of Knights Templar in the United Kingdom, having voted on this action in the autumn of 2015.

Those in attendance heard annual reports from the Grand Prior, Treasurer, Almoner and Seneschal, together with special reports from the Chairs of the Templar Pilgrimage Trust and the Templar Heritage Trust.

Sunday was the highlight of the weekend, with the Admissions and Investitures service in Rothley Temple church.

In March, Knights, Dames, Friends and Family members gathered at Rothley for the The 2015 Annual General Assembly. After the business of the day was completed, including a report from the Pilgrimage Trust we all attended Rothley Parish church for evensong.

The following day was started with a report from the Heritage trust and the a presentation from the guest speaker Mrs Ann Aves of the John Aves Educational Project.  After a short break we proceeded into the Templar Chapel for Service of Admission and Investiture for a Dame and a Novice.

After the service was concluded and photos were taken we retired the Templar Suite for dinner where a good meal was had by all, after this we went out seperate ways for another year.
